sHHHHH you don’t sound weird at all friend and i’m glad you like the blog * u *
I finally got approval to show some more Older Epic stuff. These were all done years ago. Actually the warrior, the boggan and the villain on the right were all painted during my internship at Blue Sky Studios. Some trivia: Mandrake, the main villain was called Mandrake for a few years back when Bill Joyce was at the studio, then the name was switched to Ankou (I liked this name because it seemed less human). Mandrake was then turned into a different character who eventually got cut. It was decided that Ankou might be too close to the Samurai Jack character Aku, so the name was switched back to Mandrake.
At one point we were thinking of having fall colored Leafmen, which could have been pretty cool, but the story took place during one day in the summer, so that idea got canned.
As soon as he realizes his son is in danger, he forgets about everything else. He’s not even looking as he shoots the arrow that kills his greatest opponent.
Mandrake is extremely focused, even obsessed, with his plan to destroy the forest, but ultimately what came first was his family.
Who are you people?
We are the leafmen, protectors of the forest.
